Kyoto based Interior Designer and Creative Director Takuma Inoue credits his style and flare to his ‘mix-cultured’ upbringing. From being raised in the ancient capital of Japan to spending time exploring design in the urban jungle of New York, Inoue believes its important to respect and celebrate tradition but at the same time push boundaries. After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Inoue worked under Yasunori Morita at the Glamorous studio in Japan. In 2012 he moved back to Kyoto to start his own design firm ‘everedge.inc’.

Everedge has designed restaurants, cafes, retail shops, dentists, residential houses in Kyoto and beyond. As Inoue places importance in not just design but also in ‘culture’, Inoue also helps establishments with their branding and creative direction. This is one of the many reasons why he started ‘y.gion’ an establishment in Kyoto where people can enjoy and experience the ‘mixed-cultured’ creativity in the ancient capital.
